LET'S GET STARTED

As hotels in the UK work towards a reopening date, we’ve been reflecting on the past 12 months or so ‘though the lens’ of gift vouchers and created an annual report (as we do each year), sharing key data insights around how the year unfolded for our clients (over 300 luxury venues), including:

  • Sales review with a comparison to 2019
  • The effect on the sales mix and voucher category
  • 2020 bestsellers
  • Occasion, repeat buyers & new recipient data

Here is a snapshot of the 2020 report and if you would like a full copy, please get in touch and we’ll be delighted to help.

Much of 2020 will of course be remembered for COVID-19 and its devastating impact. It will also be remembered as a time where we worked together with each other & our clients through extraordinary circumstances – people to people, business to business, to make a difference. And we look at how we responded to the pandemic in the report too, and some of the wonderful things accomplished.

Speaking in a video message recorded for the Master Innholders’ online Hoteliers – Battered But Not Beaten event, the Prince of Wales paid tribute to the “resilience” of the UK hospitality industry where he marvelled at people in the industry’s resourcefulness, noting ‘I would expect nothing less from your dedicated and open-hearted profession… it is impossible not to be impressed with their creativity, their passion and their inspirational, entrepreneurial skills.’

And we whole heartedly agree; whilst hotels were closed, we supported and encouraged our clients to innovate and employ new marketing strategies with sensitive gift voucher campaigns, adapting their voucher offering & validity, giving a much-needed instant revenue stream for experiences to be redeemed in the future.

Gift vouchers have always been an important revenue stream for luxury hotels, with the potential for large resorts to generate in excess of £1M per year, whilst attracting new customers and increasing brand awareness. And during these dark and difficult times, vouchers were a gift to hotels providing a chink of light in the shape of some much needed stability and immediate income.

If you don’t already sell gift vouchers online and would like to hear more about the opportunity,  please do get in touch with us and we’ll be delighted to help.
