What is traditionally the BIGGEST gift voucher sales date of the first 10 months of the year is just around the corner – Mother’s Day on Sunday 14th March (in the UK & Ireland). On average, we see gift vouchers sales doubling compared to an average week over Mother’s Day week, however, clients who run a strong campaign can sell up to 7 times more than usual!
To help our clients plan their promotions and optimise sales for this key gifting date, around 6-7 weeks ago we shared a unique insights document. This was based on the shopping data from previous Mother’s Day seasons, in addition to taking into account the current situation, due to COVID-19.
We segmented our collective data (from the 300+ gift sites), based on a number of factors, including the hotel’s location and its facilities. From there we highlighted trends, shared insights and made relevant recommendations, helping our clients formulate a powerful marketing plan, including:
- Different types of ‘Mother’s Day’ buyers – who is buying & how much they spend
- New gift voucher inspiration, alongside favourite gifts
- Bestselling days & times, helping schedule the best timing of emails & social media promotions
We embrace data analysis at SK Chase, whilst tapping into our (and our clients) natural curiosity, that brings insight based understanding, leading to inspired action. Data informs and supports us, but it’s the marriage between the data and a human element that gives us the biggest potential for fresh ideas.
Here’s an example of a client’s gift shop, where we created a Mother’s Day carousel & menu filter, helping customers find what they are looking for with ease and a Mother’s Day ‘campaign page‘, with a wonderful selection of inspirational gift ideas tailored to Mother’s Day. These include a ‘Mother And Daughter Day‘, ‘Mum-To-Be‘ and ‘Time for TLC‘. In addition to this, customers are also able to view and buy the hotel’s gift experiences on their Facebook & Instagram posts, via product tagging.
